"Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise and go..." (Joshua1:2).
Imagine the trauma! The great deliverer, lawgiver, prophet of God - he who had led the people out of bondage and through the wilderness for fourty years - Moses dead! "Now...go"!
To paraphrase: The past is gone, irretrievable. The future is irresistable...Go with it!
God's command to Joshua was full of promise: "I will give you every place where you set your foot; no one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Joshua 1:3, 5)
Fantastic promises. And one clear condition: "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." (1:8)
What a word for a new day!
Believe God...
Obey Him...
Go secure and confident into the days ahead!!!
