Greatness...

Servant Leadership is a term we've all become somewhat familiar with. It was coined by Robert Greenleaf in his classic book "Servant Leadership - A Journey Into The Nature Of Legitimate Power and Greatness". We see this quality modeled in the lives of great men in the scripture and particularly the life of Jesus. He stated clearly that "he who would be great must become the servant of all." John the Baptist looked at Jesus and said: "He must increase and I must decrease." In that, he coined a concept that should govern all that we do and are.

The present world order doesn't understand this nor have a model that comes close. The well known phrase that describes the way to success and greatness in its system is upward mobility. But Jesus declared servanthood or downward mobility as the road to success and greatness in His Kingdom...less of me so that there can be more of Him. Oh for the grace to seize and live out this Kingdom concept and imperative in every area of influence entrusted to us.

Blessings,

Mitch
