- Give God your firstfruits
- Pick up litter
- Be neighborly
- Say "please" and "thank you"
And today...
Invest yourself in something / someone that can't possibly "pay you back"! So many times without knowing it, we do what we do because of the kudos or perks that may come from our work and giving. God will always bless us for doing what is right. But I've discovered that many times the return anticipated will come from a totally different direction than expected. Giving gratuitously is a selfless evidence of God-life in you...and this authentic quality will be seen.
Be Stealthy. Give in secret (Matthew 6:1-4). Have you ever noticed how exciting it is to do something nice for someone anonymously? If you found your newspaper at your front door instead of all the way down at the end of the driveway, would you be upset? Or if your dinner bill was already covered when it came time to pay up, would you refuse such kindness? Your "giving in secret" opportunities are endless.
Try some of these on "for size" if you haven't already. You'll be amazed how satisfying and fulfilling it will be...to say nothing of how it will please the heart of God.
