Psalm 96:1-3, 7-9 says: "Sing to the Lord a new song...sing to Him and bless His name...proclaim good tidings of His salvation everyday...tell of His glory...and wonderful deeds; for great is the Lord and greatly to be praised....
So, ascribe to the Lord...glory and strength, give Him the glory due His name, bring an offering, come into His courts and worship Him in holy attire."
We've said that worship is not just what we do in church but especially what we do when we're not at church. More practical "things" than have been listed could be enumerated. I'm sure you have some, much better than have been listed these last weeks.
Probably one of the strongest motivators in giving ourselves to Him in worship is the deep seated realization that He (Jesus) gave himself to and for us. Knowing, in greater degrees, the great price that gave us our JOY, compels us to do the same. Maybe as we remember this week, the events of the days leading up to His crucifixion, burial and resurrection, He'll show us more of what it means to "give Him what he wants", for His purposes in worship, whether it is in church or "out there". He'll be pleased, we'll be blessed indeed, and the world around us will see Him (in us) more clearly...the authenticity they seem to be looking for.
