The Life of Jesus...

Thomas a' Kempis says we need to become students of the life and lifestyle of Jesus. In doing so, we'll live out the Gospel in all its fullness yet, in simplicity. The Gospel...it's so practical! Imagine that.... In the life of Jesus there is urgency without hurry, pressures without panic, clear direction and focus in the presence of distractions, temptation without failure and calm in the midst of calamity. We know that His relationship with His Father is what made His life what it was. He said it himself, "I can do nothing, without being vitally connected to my Father in heaven."

I'll tell you what, I could use some more of what He had...in a lot of places. I think God wants to give it more than we could possibly want it. What could be more relevant in the culture we live in than to know that there is a readily accessible remedy for the overwhelmed...Jesus, the Overcomer.

"He who abides in me...bears much fruit." "Come unto me...and I'll give you rest." "Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for my yoke is easy and in me you'll find rest." "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength...they shall run and not get tired, walk and not faint."

"...Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless and with great joy...to Him be glory...forever. Amen!"
