We believers have to learn how to be God's champions in the middle of a very morally confused and complex culture...a life filled with many pressures and challenges. Sometimes we would check out or move to another "location" that would make things simpler...easier if we could. But that's not God's plan for us. Chances are, we are where we are because God has engineered it for us and those in our environment so that we all can grow.
All of God's kids are ordinary people. We are made extra-ordinary by the things He brings our way. The scripture says: "I am made all things, to all men, that I might by all means win some." (1 Cor. 9:22) Think about it...God has chosen you for the unique set of circumstances you're in. He will make YOU all things that you need to be for what He has given you to do. He will make us all things, and equal to every task that he assigns. It is not so much that we have Him but that He has us and is able to get the job done.
I've thought about it...men and women that we remember today were ordinary people, in extraordinary circumstances who overcame in them: Moses (ordinary guy, big job to do, BIG GOD), Abraham Lincoln (humble, ordinary man; extraordinary national crisis and by his admission, God made him equal to the daunting task of uniting a divided nation)...there are many more.
When God choses you and puts you somewhere, He also places at your disposal extraordinary resources necessary for those things. Be His man or woman where you are and you'll find yourself doing and being extra-ordinary...for His Glory and to your ultimate and complete satisfaction and fulfillment. "The chief end and duty of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." Forever begins right now for us Kingdom Kids. Don't miss any of it!
Blessings,
Mitch
