Some years ago Teresa and I had the privilege of going to Israel. Of all the magnificent things we saw and heard, my memory of Bethlehem is especially vivid. There just happened to be shepherds as we were passing by, "keeping watch over their sheep...". We stopped and got out to draw "closer" to this holy place.
The sounds, the different smells in the air...the total sensory package of that moment took me back....
Back to a time where once, the most significant event in history unfolded. Among twisted trunks of an olive grove, I imagined a night sky filled with starlight as I stood and worshiped. A fresh sense of awe filled my heart as I was reminded that God sent angels to this site to tell men He was sending Jesus...to save His lost sheep. Imagine that with me....
This year, why don't you come too...stand in those fields and be seized by the wonder and radiance of that magnificent night. ...For wherever you are, Jesus is as near to you, as He was to the shepherds and by His Spirit, even nearer! Wherever you are, you are standing on holy ground, and you don't have to reach far to touch Him.
He is here to do all He promised; to heal, deliver, restore, to change and save...all this for You.
Come and behold Him, this year, like you never have before.
Merry Christmas dear ones!
Mitch
