The advent of Jesus was (is) significant for many reasons and 1 Peter 1:8-12 has reminded me how uniquely privileged I am to have been born when I was, in a "time" when this gospel has been fully revealed.
The scripture teaches that salvation was the theme of the prophets. They pondered, explored and prophesied about the Grace of God awaiting us. They tried to find out the "time", and the circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them pointed, fortelling the sufferings of Him and the glorious splendors that would follow. It was revealed to them that it was not for their "time" but for ours. And...now this gospel, once hidden, is not only revealed but openly announced to all through preachers, bringing the Message of the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven! ...And these are things which angels long to see into.
What riches to ponder...what opportunity, what privilege, what honor...and
what a responsibility, for the apostle Paul, knowing the potential and possibilities of this great grace admonishes us: "...You have received the Grace of God. Do not let it go for nothing! I have heard you and have come to your aid. ...The "time" or hour of favor has now (finally) come...the day of deliverance is here. (1 Corinthians 6:1,2)
Selah...
Glory to God in the Highest and peace on earth, goodwill to men.
Grace and Peace to you in fullest measure,
Mitch
