...Not one of my favorite words! But I'm continuing to discover just how important it is if I'm going to become all God intends for me.
One of the vital disciplines for us is meditation. One great writer explains meditation as:
"The key to translating knowledge about God into knowledge of God... this is the biblical habit (discipline) of meditation.
Meditation is the activity of calling to mind, thinking over, dwelling on and applying to one's self, the various things that one knows about the works, ways, purposes and promises of God. It is an activity of holy thought, consciously performed in the presence of God, under the eye of God, by the help of God, as a means of communion with God. Its purpose is to clear one's mental and spiritual vision of God and to let His truth make its full and proper impact on ones mind and heart.
Meditation is your effort to align your thinking, your motives, your moods and your values with God's thinking."
David prayed, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." (Ps. 19:14)
Thought you'd be encouraged by this.
