Worship...More Than Just Music...

Recently I've been sharing brief thoughts on worship in our services. We've observed that great music doesn't necessarily mean great worship...that worship is not so much about art or being "state of the art" but rather a matter of the heart...and, it's not about us. Rather, it's all about Him. There are many how-to's of worship but if they are not rendered to the Lord in His designed way, we've missed it all.

We also remembered that worship transcends or goes beyond the music and how-to's and encompasses all of our life and lifestyle. If worship is giving God what He wants from us, then what He wants is not limited to what we do in a worship service at any given time but inclusive of everything from the "big" stuff down to brushing our teeth.

It's really easy to do the Sunday morning thing, but quite another to take it out of the church building and into our homes and culture. It's one thing to want our culture to come and participate with us...but the main focus is for us to go and penetrate our culture with the uniquenesses the Life Of God in us produces.

For the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be suggesting practical ways to worship with our life "out there" which should be a natural result of the Life and Grace we've been given. I hope you'll join me for the next few publications.

Amazed,

Mitch
