The Name Above Every Name...

Who was making history two thousand years ago?

Not the Greek city fathers in Athens - who knows about them today?
Not the Roman Senators - they are long since forgotten. Not even the Emperor of Rome! Who but an historian remembers the names of the first century Caesars?

Who was making history?

JESUS!

Who was He? A Jewish rabi who gathered relatively few followers in a three year mission.

He was never taken seriously by very many - important people paid Him no mind - many religious leaders rejected Him.

At age 33, public opinion turned against Him. He was put to on trial, convicted and crucified as a common criminal.

Yet today, He is revered by multiplied millions of every race and nation.

By what odd rational do logical, intelligent, scientific minds justify ignoring or rejecting Jesus? Who in all of history deserves more thoughtful investigation than He?

The Apostle Paul wrote with supreme wisdom, "God has given Him the name which is above every name..." (Philippians 2:9-11)
