Our blog site was down for the last couple of days so it was impossible to publish a new one until now. Sorry for the delay....
Reading Psalm 5 has been a treat for me. In verse 11 the psalmist says that all who take refuge in the Lord should be glad and they should "ever sing for joy." Later in that verse it says, "those who love Thy name...exult in Thee." What does exult mean? Literally, it is to leap for joy, jubilant in triumph and victory. Adding verse 12 to the mix and putting it all in my own words, it's telling us something like this: When you've got God on your side, sheltering, protecting, blessing, surrounding and favoring you...you have every reason to be so incorrigibly happy that you might even find yourself jumping up and down in an unguarded way as you contemplate the possibilities and the potential of your future (kind of like what Gator fans were doing the night the basketball team seized the national championship). "If God is for us, who can be against us."
I know this is all true. I struggle many times remembering it though, let alone applying it. Well, the Holy Spirit certainly has his hands full with me about things like this. But when you're walking by sometime, don't hesitate to whisper that in my ear or someone elses. You never know, it just might be the Holy Spirit using you to give someone in the marathon of life a necessary "second wind." Exhilarating for you...refreshing for them.
