The Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples was to be continued in the lives of believers from then until He returns. Celebrating this Supper was basically to serve two purposes. As often as we do it, we are to remember Him and proclaim his death until he comes.
Being the forgetting humans that we are, we need things in our lives to remind us of significant events lest they pass us by and their importance cease to have meaning for us.
And to proclaim his death is of utmost importance. God's redemptive act on our behalf is the single most significant happening in the history of mankind. God presented Himself in human form to die as the remedy for our disordered and lost condition. The more I contemplate this reality, the more I find myself gazing into this vast and unfathomable treasure to us...speechless...awed...humbled...profoundly moved and thankful.
May the unfathomable riches of His indescribable gift be yours in super-abundance! He is Risen!
Hallelujah! What a savior!
