Sunday begins what is traditionally called "Holy Week", a series of days and events that began at His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As you move into next week, let me encourage you to think about the events that I've listed below on the days that they traditionally happened in anticipation of Resurrection Sunday. I think it can make this season more meaningful.
Sunday - Triumphant Entry - Matt. 21
Monday - Cursing the fig tree / Buyers and sellers driven from the temple - Matt. 21
Tuesday - Chief Priests plot to eliminate Jesus / Mt. Of Olives sermon. - Matt. 21-22
Wednesday - Jesus spends time in prayer and seclusion.
Thursday - Also called Maundy Thursday - Judas betrays Jesus, The Last Supper, Agony in the Garden and Jesus is arrested. - Matt. 26
Friday - The trial, crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus. - Matt 27
Saturday - The sabbath on which Jesus rested in the tomb.
Sunday - Resurrection Day - Matt. 28
May the power of His life and resurrection be yours in fullest measure.
