The more we pack into our lives, the less we experience of our lives. We've become modern-day Marthas, busy, distracted, and empty, instead of like her sister Mary, calm, focused and fulfilled. How do we, like Mary, create "pauses" in our days and weeks to hear what the Savior has to say to us? How do we make time for the things that ultimately matter? How can we become more spiritually sensitive to the everyday moments and opportunities of life?
However we achieve it, finding time to commune with our Father is imperative! This intimacy is the source of the seed needed to birth new life in us. It prepares the soil of our souls to receive that precious seed. We find that this supping with Him is the water that replenishes our soul and prompts the seed that is now imbedded in our hearts to sprout and flourish. As the new life emerges, this reflective discipline cultivates - shapes and balances this growth until the anticipated fruit appears, matures...and finally the joy of harvest comes.
The harvest of your life will be directly proportionate to the regularity, consistency and intensity of your devotional life...your communion with Him...a perpetual planting of seeds in the watered soil of your soul, that is cultivated toward the growth, fruiting and harvesting of eternal results that no earthly power can diminish or compromise.
